My name is Theodore, and I’m a recognized technician by Steinway & Sons.
When I started my piano apprenticeship, I already knew a lot of the theory behind piano tuning and repair. However, my apprenticeship gave me the hands-on experience which every piano technician needs before start working on his or her own. I apprenticed with two piano technicians. One performed mostly piano tuning and repairs, while the other specialized in piano rebuilding and restoration.
Learning from two different piano technicians gave me a more broad knowledge and understanding of tuning, repairing, and rebuilding pianos.
I enjoy the work that I do, and I consider it the part of me that gives meaning to who I am. I want to be remembered by the lives that I have touched with the skills that I have been so blessed to have been given, and maybe someday I’ll tune for you. It would be my great honor and pleasure to make my mastered art a part of your life, as well as the instrument you cherish so much in playing.
